This year, the children’s choir of the Casimirschool will once again make a special contribution during Gouda by Candlelight. While the city center of Gouda lights up with hundreds of candles, our students will sing songs that they have practiced with great attention over the past few weeks. The students of the Casimir School have been introduced to the world of dance, theater and music from an early age. They are looking forward to performing again in the beautiful city center of Gouda and hope to see you there!

Met Maten Jazz is an instrumental quartet that plays jazzy music. The line-up consists of Rene Tulner (drums), Geert van Rooijen (bass), Roel de With (piano) and Hans van Oostenbruggen (flute).
The repertoire consists of a mix of jazz standards and jazzy pop and rock songs. The flute plays the leading role, so there is room for songs by Jethro Tull and Focus, for example. Songs that they like themselves are played. Burt Bacharach, Joe Dassin or Francoise Hardy also appear, although strictly speaking they are not jazz. They adhere to the position that everything is allowed in jazz and therefore even cheerfully promote any mistake made to “own interpretation”. They look forward to contributing to Gouda by Candlelight.

PANSHIR and Shannon Breeze play alternately.
As soft as the pigeons in the village, as merciless as the snow leopards in the mountains: the alternative rock sound of this Gouda quartet stretches as wide as the fields of Pansjir – the Afghan valley from which the band takes its name. From vulnerable vocals to exciting riffs – with PANSHIR many find a melody to take home.
Shannon Breeze plays traditional Irish dance music, songs by The Dubliners, Christy Moore and more. The band members: Maria O’Connell (flutes, bodhrán), Hans de Jong (guitar, mandolin, vocals) and André Jansen (banjo, guitar, vocals).
