The 69th edition of Gouda by Candlelight on Friday, December 13th promises to be a special day. This year, Gouda by Candlelight is going all out with no fewer than two fantastic headliners. In addition to the previously announced singer and actress Leona Philipo, internationally renowned gospel artist Elvis E will also be on stage. On Friday, December 13th, Gouda will once again be transformed into an atmospheric, illuminated city full of music, theater, and surprises.
Elvis E is an established name in the gospel world and began his musical career at the age of four as a drummer, pianist, and singer in church. He grew into a successful artist, music director, arranger, and producer.
Over the years, Elvis E has collaborated as a producer and performer with established artists such as Dwight Dissels, Ruth Jacott, and Berget Lewis. The professional ZA-EL Gospel Choir will be supporting his performance during Gouda by Candlelight. This black gospel choir features singers known from television programs such as Concert for Change and The Talent Scout.
In addition to performances by Leona Philipo and Elvis E, visitors can enjoy a varied program full of music, theater, and other surprises from early afternoon until late in the evening. Performances and activities can be found throughout the city center.
Besides the traditional Christmas carols by the Christmas tree in the Markt square, Gouda by Candlelight introduces new elements each year to keep the event fresh and exciting.
