In the middle of Kleiweg, you’ll find the Christmas pop-up store Nieuwe Buren (New Neighbors), where you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and a snack made by the Nieuwe Buren (New Neighbors), newcomers, and old friends from the city, in our cozy living room. If you arrive after 5:00 PM, you can also enjoy Ali Esrail. He’s a singer-songwriter—or, as he likes to say, a fool who dreams—from Gouda. During the day, he delivers groceries; in the evenings, he writes songs that move in the space between melancholy, hope, playfulness, and honesty. Inspired by songwriters like Alex Turner and Matt Bellamy, his music digs to the (muddy) bottom of the intimate atmosphere.
