Moordtzangers and the women’s choir Eigen Wijs will alternate. Shanty choir De MoordtZangers, conducted by Jolanda Warmenhoven, will primarily sing traditional work songs, the shanties, along with other sea shanties and traditional sing-alongs. Women’s choir Eigen Wijs is a group of 28 women, a guitarist, and an accordion-playing conductor. Especially for Gouda by Candlelight, they will sing atmospheric Christmas carols.

5:00 PM – 6:45 PM
The approximately 30 men of Shanty Choir West Zuidwest from Gouda will sing songs that reflect the rhythm of hard work, as well as songs sung on deck on long, balmy evenings. The choir will perform these songs with great joy, expression, and enthusiasm.
