Visit the Winter Fair! On Friday, December 12th (10:00 AM – 10:00 PM) and Saturday, December 14th (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM), there will be a cozy Winter Fair at the Sint-Jan church in Gouda. Admission to the church is free during this unique event. A wonderful opportunity to admire the magnificent Sint-Jan church with its Gouda stained-glass windows from the inside and enjoy the hospitality at the same time. You can enjoy shopping at the various stalls, enjoy delicious food, and socialize at the food court. Your purchases also support charities. There will be musical performances, and during Gouda by Candlelight, there will be a concert. There will be time for reflection in the quiet center and prayer room, and an opportunity to experience the Christmas story in a special way. This makes the Winter Fair more than just a Christmas market.

Regionaal Senioren Orkest
Stedelijke Harmonie Caecilia

The Regional Senior Orchestra was founded in 2013 by Gouda’s Harmonie “De Pionier.” It started with 22 orchestra members from the Gouda region and consists of members and former members of orchestras.
The Regional Senior Orchestra has since grown to approximately 55 members, ranging in age from 55 to 80. The orchestra is composed of a concert band, complete with bassoon, bass clarinet, and bass guitar.
Since 2016, the Regional Senior Orchestra has been under the expert direction of Marko van Esch, a professional clarinetist himself. Marko completed his musical studies at the Utrecht School of the Arts and the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. As a music teacher, he provides musical education to many young people from Gouda and the surrounding area.

Musicians from the Caecilia City Harmony will perform festive Christmas carols under the direction of conductor Mark Beursgens.
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Popkoor Prestige Gouda is a vibrant pop and show choir, with a repertoire consisting of the latest pop hits you hear on the radio. The choir rehearses weekly under the direction of conductor Mariska Prins and regularly performs with its own live band. Popkoor Prestige is part of Prestige Vocal Groups, the largest national pop choir organization.
8:00 PM – 8:45 PM and 9:00 PM – 9:45 PM
The band of the Sint-Jansgemeente community plays contemporary and classic Christmas carols. Come listen and sing along!
