Geïnspireerd door artiesten als Lizzy McAlpine, YEBBA, Caroline Polachek en Tiny Habits, maakt Yasmina nummers die boeien en inspireren. Met haar warme, authentieke geluid en pakkende melodieën neemt Yasmina je mee in haar wereld en zingt ze liedjes over zelfonderzoek en liefde. Haar muziek is een genre op zich, een mix van singer-songwriter en pop-, rock- en indie-elementen. Of ze nu geheimen fluistert of liefdesverdriet uitschreeuwt, Yasmina nodigt je uit om diep te voelen, vrij rond te dwalen en jezelf te verliezen in de muziek.

In their new show, “Sin Tierra,” singer Juliana Martina and guitarist Jaime Nanoha draw inspiration from their rich backgrounds and the many influences they grew up with. While creating Sin Tierra, which literally translates to “without a country,” they asked themselves what it means to feel at home, where you belong, and how your musical influences shape you into the artist you are.

Juliana Martina was born on the enchanting Caribbean island of Curaçao to a Colombian family and moved to Europe at the age of ten. Jaime Nanoha’s ancestors come from Suriname, Indonesia, and the Netherlands. Their backgrounds are a major source of inspiration for both of them, which they seamlessly weave into their music and the stories they tell.
The duo met at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where they both graduated with honors in 2015. They’ve been playing together for over ten years, sharing a love of Latin American music, jazz, classical music, and hip-hop. As a duo, they’ve found an authentic way to incorporate all these influences into their subtle and sensitive playing. They perform their own work and the most beautiful songs by artists like Mercedes Sosa, Demetrio Ortiz, Dorival Caymmi, Tupac, and Rudy Plaate in a narrative style.
