This year, the Casikoor of de Casimirschool will once again make a special contribution during Gouda by Candlelight. As the city center of Gouda lights up with hundreds of candles, the students will sing songs they have carefully practiced over the past few weeks.
15.30 – 16.00
Of course, Christmas is all about traditional English carols! Carols bij Kaarslicht is a group of eight singers who have come together specifically for Gouda by Candlelight to sing four-part harmonies for you. Carols by Kaarslicht hopes to warm your heart in the lead-up to this cold, dark, but oh-so-atmospheric Christmas season.

16.15 – 17.00
Ladies choir Eigen Wijs from Moordrecht is a cheerful choir with a repertoire of both Dutch and English well-known songs. They sing old and new hits, swinging tunes, and ballads that everyone can sing along to. Feel free to join in and sing along!
17.00 – 18.00
The Rotterdam popkoor O Jee, led by conductor Mathieu Smit, is known for their surprising presentations and visible enjoyment of singing. With cheerful and atmospheric Christmas songs, the choir will get everyone into that delightful Christmas mood. Jingle all the way with pop choir O Jee!
20.00 – 21.00
Vrouwe IJsselstein Swingt is a vocal group of 25 women, led by Juliette Dumoré, who showcase their unique sound characterized by tone color, singing with emotion, and “moove & groove.” Today, Vrouwe IJsselstein Swingt will create a beautiful Christmas atmosphere with their enthusiasm and musical passion.
21.00 – 22.00
Jubal All Star is a swinging Christmas ensemble that is part of the Jubal drum & bugle corps from Dordrecht. They have been active for over 30 years at numerous events both domestically and internationally, including Christmas markets, fairs, and concerts. Jubal All Star Xmas Band returns once again to Gouda for a series of musical sets at Gouda by Candlelight.
The repertoire consists of well-known Christmas classics such as Ave Maria, Silent Night, Gloria, and Hark the Herald Angels Sing. However, the 16 brass players and drummer will also treat you to a few jazzy, up-tempo big band-style arrangements of popular contemporary Christmas tunes like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, Christmas Song, and Frosty the Snowman.
So, it’s enjoyment 2.0!
