For both young and old, there is the live Nativity scene featuring Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus, and the Wise Men from the East. Children can walk in and pet the animals (rabbits, chickens, and sheep). The Nativity scene has been created by volunteers from the Kinderboerderij ‘De Goudse Hofsteden’.

De Boekfiets is a recognizable cargo bike, equipped with a complete inventory of books, stuffed animals, games, drawing materials, and a sound system. The book cyclists read aloud with the help of a storytelling box and play language games with both children and parents. This year, the Book Bike will, of course, be present at Gouda by Candlelight, filled with delightful Christmas stories! A peaceful moment for the youngest visitors amid all the festivities in the city.
14.00 – 17.30
For the youngest visitors, theater workshop theaterwerkplaats Twee Hondjes dpresents the read-aloud and watch performance of Tor from Kongsberg, who travels to Gouda with his Christmas tree. Watch and listen to the exciting adventure of Tor, his grandmother, the truck driver, and the mayor. This adaptation of the Golden Book, created in 2015 by Harmen van Straaten, brings the story to life.
14.00 – 17.00
GordijnOpzij plays the beautiful story about animals celebrating Christmas in the forest: ‘Lucia the Bear Can’t Sleep’. They make so much noise that Lucia the Bear is disturbed in her hibernation. Angry, she sets out to teach those noisy creatures a lesson…
The two performances are alternately played.
