StrijkVrij has existed since 2019 and was founded to offer adult beginners on a string instrument the opportunity to make music together in the form of ensemble lessons led by teachers Mariëlle Rijkaart and Saskia Maas.
Typical for this orchestra is the enormous pleasure that everyone gets from getting one step further and making real music out of the notes!
17.30 – 19.00 uur
Gouds Symfonie Orkest (GSO) conducted by Aad van der Velde. Tonight they will play music in a Christmas atmosphere by Corelli, Bach and Händel (excerpts from Watermusic). The GSO is an amateur orchestra for advanced musicians. The fun of playing is central, but of course also the improvement of their quality.
The repertoire is predominantly classical, with the occasional foray into another genre such as a joint concert with Jaap Mulder (klezmer music) in 2015, and in 2022 they gave a festive children’s performance with the film ‘The Snowman’.
You can also play in this orchestra! Given the current line-up in the orchestra, they are looking for: 1st violins, violas and a bass player. If you feel like making music every Thursday in a relaxed atmosphere, please contact them!
20.15 – 22.00 uur
Kamer Orkest Midden-Holland is a small orchestra with enthusiastic advanced amateurs from Gouda and the wider region. Under the direction of Sjoerd Haver, the orchestra mainly plays classical music from the 18th and 19th centuries with occasional excursions into film and folk music.
The ambition of this orchestra is to grow into an orchestra that can play most (classical) pieces in an accurate original, line-up. They are therefore looking for more enthusiastic and advanced musicians. At the moment they are looking for strings (especially violins) and horn.
