De Firma | Kunstcentrum Gouda is organizing the 10th edition of LichtKunstGouda, a jubilee! The theme of this Gouda light art festival is ‘Reflection’—on ourselves, both literally and figuratively, and on society. Seven artists illuminate different aspects of our society with their works, addressing themes such as plastic waste, busyness and speed, the war in Ukraine, and also more positive reflections, such as music, peace and space, faith and self-reflection, love for each other and our environment, and finally, a reflection on home—our Gouda!

Stillness, interaction, and live performances
In the spirit of reflection and 10 years of light art, familiar faces from previous editions return—two of them from Gouda—and join several new participants to create a diverse program. Ranging from easily accessible to more experimental and innovative works, from small and serene pieces to impressive large-scale audiovisual installations.
Some light art installations are interactive. Visitors are not just spectators but also become part of the installation, experiencing the reflection firsthand.

This year, live performances will also take place in the Jeruzalemkapel, especially for the jubilee. This promises to be something very special—don’t miss it! The performance times will be announced on the website LichtKunstGouda.nl, where you can also find more information about the artworks, artists, and locations.

Free light art route December 13–24
The light artworks and installations will be on display for 10 days at various locations in Gouda’s historic city center, with free entry. During Gouda by Candlelight on December 13, the artworks can be viewed from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. After that, they will be accessible daily from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (closed December 16 and 17).
The route begins at De Firma | Kunstcentrum Gouda and continues through Achter de kerk, Jeruzalemkapel, Peperstraat, Hoge Gouwe, Kleiwegbrug, and Crabethpark. Are you arriving from Gouda Station? Visitors can also follow the route in reverse or create their own order.
